چکیده

The synthesis of pyridines from readily available α,β-unsaturated oximes and alkynes under mild conditions and low temperatures using Rh(III) catalysis has been developed. It was found that the use of sterically different ligands allows for complementary selectivities to be achieved.

Site- and Regioselective Monoalkenylation of Pyrroles with Alkynes via Cp*CoIII Catalysis.

A site-, regio-, syn-, and monoselective alkenylation of dimethylcarbamoyl-protected pyrroles proceeded using a catalytic amount of [Cp*Co(CH3CN)3](SbF6)2 and KOAc. A variety of internal alkynes with several functional groups and a terminal alkyne afforded hydropyrrolation products in a selective manner in good to excellent yield. The site-selectivity (C2/C5 selectivity) observed for C3-substit...

Synthesis of highly substituted pyrroles via nucleophilic catalysis.

A nucleophilic catalysis method providing a concise synthesis of di-, tri-, and tetrasubstituted pyrroles is described. This regioselective one-pot method relies on nucleophilic catalysis of the intermolecular addition of oximes to activated alkynes and thermal rearrangement of the in situ generated O-vinyl oximes to form pyrroles that contain a functional group handle at the C3/C4 position.

Gold-catalysed rearrangement of O-vinyl oximes for the synthesis of highly substituted pyrroles.

O-Vinyl oximes were synthesised from the reaction of oximes with activated alkynes and subsequently rearranged using gold catalysis to afford highly substituted pyrroles in an efficient and regiocontrolled process. Additionally, pyrroles were formed directly from oximes and activated alkynes in a multifaceted catalysis process.

Proton-hydride tautomerism in hydrogen evolution catalysis.

Efficient generation of hydrogen from renewable resources requires development of catalysts that avoid deep wells and high barriers. Information about the energy landscape for H2 production can be obtained by chemical characterization of catalytic intermediates, but few have been observed to date. We have isolated and characterized a key intermediate in 2e(-) + 2H(+) → H2 catalysis. This interm...

Enantioselective Synthesis of Spiroindenes by Enol-Directed Rhodium(III)-Catalyzed C–H Functionalization and Spiroannulation

Chiral cyclopentadienyl rhodium complexes promote highly enantioselective enol-directed C(sp(2))-H functionalization and oxidative annulation with alkynes to give spiroindenes containing all-carbon quaternary stereocenters. High selectivity between two possible directing groups, as well as control of the direction of rotation in the isomerization of an O-bound rhodium enolate into the C-bound i...
